Kaitlyn Pollock

Kaitlyn Pollock is a passionate dance artist, educator, and choreographer based in Michigan. She earned her BFA in Dance from Western Michigan University, where she performed works by Gerald Arpino, KT Nelson, David Parsons, Lauren Edson, Autumn Eckman, Harrison McEldowney, Ron DeJesus, Shen Wei, and Heidi Latsky. These formative experiences deeply shaped her expressive approach to performance and choreography.

As a student and emerging professional, Kaitlyn deepened her training through programs including the American Dance Festival, Ballet Concerto in Fort Worth, Gallim Intensives, and Steps on Broadway’s Contemporary Masters Intensive, along with numerous other training experiences across New York City. Her professional career took shape in New York, where she performed with Shawn Bible Dance Company, BOM DIGGS, and Smashworks Dance Collective. She also served as a guest instructor at Manhattanville College and collaborated on diverse creative endeavors across the city

In 2018, Kaitlyn returned to Michigan and joined Jodie Randolph Dance, performing both locally and internationally in contemporary works. The following year, she joined the dance faculty at Western Michigan University, where she teaches modern technique—rooted in contemporary floorwork—and mentors BA and BFA students on their senior projects. She has also been commissioned in various capacities to set work on WMU dancers, contributing choreography to concerts and special projects.

In 2022, she became a member of the teaching staff at Wellspring, where she teaches modern technique and contemporary floorwork to both youth and the adult community. In addition, Kaitlyn has served as a guest instructor throughout local professional intensives, bringing her contemporary and modern approach to dancers across the region.

In 2020, Kaitlyn was named Artistic Director of the Young Dancers Initiative, a pre-professional youth company dedicated to guiding young artists as they transition from studio training to collegiate and professional careers. Kaitlyn continues to choreograph throughout the region and remains devoted to serving, inspiring, and elevating the Kalamazoo dance community.
